See Who Someone Recently Followed on Instagram

Type a public username and get the accounts it followed most recently, newest first, with a New label on follows since the last check.

  • Public accounts only
  • No Instagram login
  • Newest 2 follows free

How it works

  1. 01

    Type their username

Use the handle or paste the profile link. The account has to be public.

  2. 02

    We read their newest follows

We read the public following list and put the most recent follows at the top. Nothing is sent to them.

  3. 03

    See what’s new

Each check is compared with the last one, so recent follows get a New label and the time we first saw them.

See recent follows on Instagram

Instagram used to have a Following tab that showed what the people you follow were doing, including who they followed. It was removed in 2019, and nothing replaced it. Today the only way to see recent follows is to look at an account’s Following list and work out what’s new.

FollowGlance does that in one search. You get the profile, how many recent follows we found and the newest 2 in full, for free. 1 credit unlocks the rest of the list, up to about 100 of the newest follows.

What “recently followed” means in the data

Instagram doesn’t publish follow times for anyone. So every tool that shows recent follows works the same way underneath: it saves the list, checks again later and compares the two.

  • On the first check we put the newest follows first, in the order Instagram gives them, without times.
  • On every later check accounts that weren’t there before are marked New, with the time we first saw them, like “5 hours ago”.
  • The more often an account is checked, the closer that time is to the real moment of the follow.

That’s why our times say “first seen”, not “followed at”. A site that promises the exact minute someone followed an account is guessing.

Recent follows vs recent followers

They sound alike, but they point in opposite directions:

Recent followsRecent followers
Who did itThe account you checkOther people
What happenedIt followed someone newSomeone new followed it
Where to see itThis pageInstagram recent followers

An unlocked report shows both lists, each with its own New labels.

How to see recent follows without the app

You don’t need the Instagram app or an Instagram account. FollowGlance runs in any browser, on a phone or a computer:

  1. Copy the account’s username, or its profile link from Instagram.
  2. Paste it in the box at the top of this page and press Check follows.
  3. Read the newest follows. To see what changes, check again later, or turn on daily email alerts once the account is unlocked.

Daily alerts check the account once a day and email you its new follows and followers. The unlock includes 30 days of them, and 1 credit adds 30 more.

Will they know?

No. A check only reads the public following list. We don’t log in as you, follow anyone, like anything or send a message, so the account sees nothing. Read more in does Instagram notify someone when you look at their follows.

Questions

How can I see who someone recently followed on Instagram?

Type their username at the top of this page. FollowGlance lists the accounts they followed most recently, newest first. The newest 2 are free, and 1 credit unlocks up to about 100.

Does Instagram show a “recently followed” list?

No. The Following tab that used to show this was removed in 2019. A public profile’s Following list is still visible, but it isn’t sorted by date.

Can I see recent follows without an app?

Yes. FollowGlance works in the browser on any phone or computer. There’s nothing to install, and you don’t need an Instagram account.

Can I see recent follows on a private account?

No. Only approved followers can see a private account’s lists. We check public accounts only, and a private one is never charged.

How far back can I see?

A free check shows the newest 2 follows in full. An unlocked report shows up to about 100 of the newest follows. Older follows further down the list aren’t included.

Why does the list look different from yesterday?

Because the account followed new people or dropped some. Follows that are new since the last check get a New label, so you can see exactly what was added.

Can I see who someone unfollowed too?

Not yet. FollowGlance shows new follows and new followers. Unfollows aren’t tracked.

Does the person know I checked?

No. Nothing is sent to them, and we never use your Instagram account, so there’s nothing for Instagram to tell them.

Can I see recent follows on my phone?

Yes. The page works in any mobile browser. Copy the profile link in the Instagram app, paste it here and press Check follows.

Is “recently followed” the same as “recent followers”?

No. Recently followed means the accounts this profile started following. Recent followers are the people who started following this profile. An unlocked report shows both.

How many recent follows can I see at once?

Up to about 100 on an unlocked report, newest first. A free check shows the newest 2 in full and tells you how many recent follows we found.

Is it free?

The check is free and shows the newest 2 follows in full. Unlocking the full report costs 1 credit. Packs start at $6.99, with no subscription.

Updated October 28, 2026. FollowGlance reads public Instagram data only. It never logs in to Instagram, and the account you check is never notified. Privacy Policy
