Check a following list in one search
Sometimes you don’t need to track anything. You want a straight answer: who does this account follow right now, and who did it follow last? The following checker is built for that one question.
Type the username, press Check follows and read the answer. There’s no app to install, no Instagram login, and no account needed for a free check.
What the checker returns
A free check returns:
- the profile, with its follower, following and post counts;
- how many recent follows we found;
- the newest 2 follows, with names and photos;
- a rough split of women, men and pages among the recent follows, guessed from first names.
If the account was checked before, follows that are new since then get a New label and the time we first saw them. Unlock the account for 1 credit to read up to about 100 of its newest follows.
Check following vs check followers
The checker answers who the account follows. To know who follows the account, you need the other list. An unlocked report shows both: the newest follows and the newest followers. For followers on their own, see Instagram recent followers.
A quick way to keep them apart: following is what the account chose; followers are who chose the account. A brand that follows ten creators in a week has a plan. Ten creators following a brand is reach.
One-off check vs ongoing tracking
| One-off check | Ongoing tracking | |
|---|---|---|
| Good for | A quick answer today | Changes over weeks |
| What you get | The newest follows now | New follows as they appear |
| How often | Once | Each check, or a daily email |
| Cost | Free preview, 1 credit for the full list | The same unlock, with 30 days of alerts |
If the answer makes you want to keep watching, nothing is lost: unlock the account, then check it again whenever you like, or turn on alerts. The Instagram following tracker explains how tracking works.
What a check can’t tell you
A following list shows who an account follows, not why. A follow can mean a new friend, a work contact, a brand deal or a tap by mistake. Use the list as a starting point, and look at the profiles before you read anything into it.
A check also can’t see private accounts, follows that are older than the newest part of a long list, or who the account unfollowed.
Is a following check visible to the account?
No. A check only reads the public list. It doesn’t follow the account, like anything, view stories or send a message, so there’s nothing for Instagram to notify. Read more in does Instagram notify someone when you look at their follows.
Questions
What does an Instagram following checker show?
The accounts a public profile follows, newest first. FollowGlance also tells you how many recent follows it found and marks the ones that are new since the last check.
How do I check someone’s following list?
Type their username or paste their profile link at the top of this page and press Check follows. The newest 2 follows are shown in full for free.
Can I check if someone follows me back?
Not directly. The checker lists the newest follows of the account you check, so you can look for your name among them, but it doesn’t compare two accounts for you.
Is the checker free?
The check is free. It shows the profile, how many recent follows we found and the newest 2 in full. The full list costs 1 credit, with packs from $6.99.
Do I need to log in with my Instagram account?
No, never. FollowGlance doesn’t ask for your Instagram username or password. Be careful with any tool that does.
Can I check a private account?
No. Private accounts keep their lists for approved followers. You can check public accounts only, and a private one is never charged.
How accurate is the following data?
It’s the account’s public following list as Instagram returns it at the time of the check. Times are first-seen times, because Instagram doesn’t publish the real ones.
Can I check multiple accounts at once?
One account per search, but you can run as many searches as you like within a daily limit on new accounts. Unlocked accounts stay in My reports, so switching between them is quick.
What’s the difference between a checker and a tracker?
A checker answers once: who the account follows now. A tracker keeps checking and shows what changed. FollowGlance does both: check now, then check again or turn on daily alerts.
Does checking show up as a view?
No. Instagram has no “viewed your following list” notice, and our check doesn’t use your account anyway. The person sees nothing.
