Who are the new followers
A follower count only tells you how many. The new followers themselves tell you much more: whether a post reached the right people, whether a collab brought fans with it, or whether a wave of empty accounts arrived overnight.
FollowGlance shows the newest followers of a public account by name and photo. Anyone who wasn’t there at the last check is marked New, with the time we first saw them. New followers are part of the unlocked report: 1 credit opens an account for good, and checking it again later is free.
How to see new followers on Instagram
For your own account, Instagram shows new followers in your notifications. They’re easy to miss: notifications mix follows with likes and comments, and older ones drop off the list.
For someone else’s account, Instagram shows nothing at all. You can open their Followers list while logged in, but there are no dates and no way to tell who joined since yesterday.
Checking the account here fills that gap:

- Unlock the report to see the newest followers.
- Check again tomorrow. Everyone new since today is marked New.
Track new followers over time
You don’t have to remember to check. Turn on daily email alerts for an unlocked account, and we check it once a day and email you its new followers and new follows. The unlock includes 30 days of alerts; after that, 1 credit adds 30 more. You can keep alerts on for up to 10 accounts at a time.
New followers vs recent followers
The two words overlap. Here’s how we use them:

Getting more new followers (what actually works)
Since you’re here, a few things that reliably bring new followers:
- Post on a steady schedule. A regular rhythm gives people a reason to follow instead of just liking one post.
- Make one thing well. A clear topic tells new visitors what they’ll get if they follow.
- Collaborate. Collab posts and shout-outs put you in front of an audience that already likes your kind of content. Look at a creator’s new followers before you team up, so you know whose attention you’re borrowing.
- Skip bought followers. They don’t like or comment, they drag your reach down, and anyone can spot them in a list of new followers.
