View a following list in seconds

On Instagram, a following list is one tap away, but only after you log in, and only in an order Instagram picks. It tends to show accounts you both follow first, and it never shows when each follow happened.

The following viewer gives you the same public list in a cleaner view. Search a username, and you get the profile at the top and its follows below, newest first, each with a name and a photo.

How the viewer works

We ask Instagram for the account’s public following list, the same list anyone logged in can open in the app. It comes back newest first, so the accounts at the top are the ones it followed most recently.

A free view shows the newest 2 follows in full and tells you how many recent follows we found. Unlock the account for 1 credit to view up to about 100 of the newest follows. Once it’s unlocked, viewing the account again is free, and follows that are new since your last view get a New label.

What you can and can’t see

You can see:

  • names, usernames and profile photos of the accounts it follows;
  • verified badges;
  • which follows are new since the last check, and when we first saw them;
  • with an unlocked report, its newest followers too.

You can’t see:

  • private accounts, whose lists only approved followers can open;
  • the whole following list of an account that follows thousands: we show the newest, up to about 100;
  • the exact time of each follow, which Instagram never publishes;
  • anything inside the account, like messages or close friends.

Viewing someone’s following list doesn’t notify them on Instagram either. The difference is that the app needs your account and doesn’t sort by date.

Look once, or keep watching

Most people start with one look. If the list makes you curious about what comes next, you don’t need another tool: unlock the account, check it again whenever you like, or turn on daily email alerts. The unlock includes 30 days of alerts.

Want the history, not just one look? Use the Instagram following tracker. To view followers instead, see the Instagram follower list viewer. And for the ways to do it by hand, read how to see someone’s following list on Instagram.

Questions

How do I view someone’s Instagram following list?

Type their username or paste their profile link at the top of this page. You’ll see the accounts they follow, newest first. On Instagram itself you’d open their profile and tap Following, which needs you to be logged in.

Can I see a following list without logging in?

Yes. FollowGlance never needs an Instagram login, and a free view doesn’t need a FollowGlance account either.

Why is the following list hidden on Instagram?

It’s hidden when the account is private, and Instagram shows public lists only to people who are logged in. Long lists are also slow to scroll, and none of them are sorted by date.

Can I view a private account’s following list?

No. Private lists are only for approved followers. We view public accounts only, and you’re never charged for a private one.

Does the viewer show followers too?

Yes, on an unlocked report. It lists the account’s newest followers below its newest follows.

Will they know I viewed their following list?

No. Nothing is sent to the account, and we never use your Instagram account to look.

Can I view a following list on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your phone’s browser, paste the profile link from Instagram and press Check follows.

How recent is the data?

Each check reads the public list again. If the same account was checked a short time earlier, you may see that result; on an unlocked report, Check again reads it fresh.

Can I export a following list?

Not at the moment. You can view the list on the page, and unlocked reports stay in My reports so you can come back to them.

Does this work for any public account?

Yes: personal, creator and business accounts, as long as they’re public. A brand new account with no follows has nothing to show yet.

What if the account follows thousands of people?

You’ll see the newest follows first, up to about 100 on an unlocked report. That’s where recent changes show up; older follows further down aren’t included.

Updated October 28, 2026. FollowGlance reads public Instagram data only. It never logs in to Instagram, and the account you check is never notified. Privacy Policy

Curious who they followed today?

Type a username. The newest follows are free to see.
