What the following tracker shows you
A following list is the set of accounts a profile follows. Instagram shows it to anyone who is logged in when the profile is public, but it doesn’t say when each follow happened, and it doesn’t put the newest ones first. The following tracker does that work for you.
Every check gives you:
- the profile: name, picture, and how many followers, follows and posts it has;
- how many recent follows we found;
- the newest 2 follows in full, for free.
Unlock the account for 1 credit to see the rest: up to about 100 of its newest follows, each with a name and photo, plus its newest followers, the accounts that engage with it most, possible second accounts, and a rough split of women, men and pages among the follows.
Track following changes over time
One look tells you who an account follows today. The second look tells you what changed. FollowGlance keeps the list from each check, so the next check can be compared with it.
- New labels. Accounts that weren’t there last time are marked New.
- First-seen times. Each new follow shows when we first saw it, like “3 hours ago”. It isn’t the exact moment of the follow, because Instagram never publishes that, but it gets closer the more often the account is checked.
- Free re-checks. Once an account is unlocked, checking it again costs nothing, up to 30 times a day.
- Daily email alerts. Turn on alerts and we check the account once a day and email you its new follows and followers. The unlock includes 30 days, and you can keep alerts on for up to 10 accounts at a time.
The very first check of an account has nothing to compare with, so it shows the newest follows in order, without times. From the second check on, new follows stand out.
Who uses it
Fans keeping up with a creator
When a creator you like starts following new people, it often hints at a collab, a new project or a trip. Track their account and see the new names as they appear.
Brands keeping an eye on competitors
A competitor following a group of creators in the same week usually means a campaign is coming. Track the brand’s account and you’ll see who they’re talking to before the posts go live.
Agencies vetting creators
Before you sign a creator, look at who they follow and how that list changes. A sudden wave of follows to giveaway or follow-for-follow accounts is worth a question.
Checking your own account
Type your own username to see your newest follows the way others see them, and spot any you don’t remember making.
Following tracker vs checking by hand
| Following tracker | Checking by hand | |
|---|---|---|
| Newest follows first | Yes | No, the app doesn’t sort by date |
| Which follows are new | Marked New | Only if you remember the old list |
| When a follow appeared | First-seen time | Not shown |
| Email about changes | Daily alerts | No |
| Instagram login needed | No | Yes |
| Time per check | About ten seconds | Minutes of scrolling |
Public accounts only
The tracker reads what anyone can already see on a public profile. It can’t open private accounts, and you’re never charged for one. It never logs in to Instagram as you, follows anyone or sends a message, so the account you check is never notified.

Questions
How can I track someone’s Instagram following list?
Type their username or paste their profile link at the top of this page. You’ll see the accounts they followed most recently, newest first. Check again later, and follows that weren’t there before are marked New.
Can I see who someone recently followed on Instagram?
Yes, for public accounts. Every check lists the newest follows first. The newest 2 are free, and 1 credit unlocks up to about 100.
Does this Instagram following tracker require a login?
No Instagram login, ever. You can run a free check without an account too. You only sign in to FollowGlance to unlock a report or keep it in My reports.
Can I track a private Instagram account?
No. Private accounts show their lists only to approved followers. We check public accounts only, and you’re never charged for a private one.
How often does the following list update?
Whenever the account is checked. On an unlocked report, Check again reads it fresh, up to 30 times a day, and daily email alerts check it once a day for you.
Can I see a following list without an Instagram account?
Yes. FollowGlance works in any browser and never needs an Instagram account. Instagram itself asks you to log in before it shows anyone’s following list.
Is there a limit to how many profiles I can track?
You can unlock as many accounts as you have credits. Daily email alerts cover up to 10 accounts at a time, and there’s a daily limit on new accounts per visitor that keeps the service fast.
Can I compare someone’s following list over time?
Yes, that’s what the tracker is for. Each check is compared with the previous one, so new follows get a New label and the time we first saw them.
What’s the difference between followers and following?
Followers are the accounts that follow a profile. Following is the list of accounts the profile follows. This page tracks the following list; the Instagram follower tracker covers followers.
Why can’t I see someone’s following list on my phone?
Instagram only shows following lists to people who are logged in, and it hides them completely on private accounts. On a public account the list is there, but it isn’t sorted by date.
Is tracking a public following list allowed?
FollowGlance only reads what the account owner made public, and it never logs in or contacts anyone. Use it for research and curiosity, never to harass anyone. Our Acceptable Use Policy lists what isn’t allowed.
Does this work for business and creator accounts?
Yes. Any public account works: personal, creator or business. Brand accounts are a common choice, to see who a company starts following before a campaign.
